Demand for Russian autumn and winter clothing is surging, with consumers spending more than 20,000 rubles

In September 2021, the number of clothes and shoes purchased online by consumers increased by 77 percent compared with the same period last year. At the same time, online sales increased by 93 percent, with the average value of each order reaching 1,745 rubles. The number of buyers and the number of online stores increased by 66% and 13%, respectively, compared with the same period last year. Women are expected to spend an average of 20,915 roubles on autumn/winter clothing this year, while men are expected to spend about 21,990 roubles. This amount is mainly used to buy essentials such as warm jackets, jeans, sweaters, boots, hats and scarves.
