
Skid-Steer Loader Inspection Checklist
1. Visual Inspection
Exterior Condition: Check for dents, cracks, or rust on the frame, bucket, and attachments.
Tires/Tracks: Inspect for wear, damage, or proper inflation (if equipped with tires).
Hydraulic Hoses & Cylinders: Look for leaks, cracks, or loose connections.
Safety Labels/Decals: Ensure all warnings and operational labels are legible and intact.
2. Operational Tests
Engine: Start-up smoothness, abnormal noises, exhaust smoke, and throttle response.
Hydraulic System: Test lift/lower/tilt functions for smooth operation and check for leaks.
Controls: Verify responsiveness of joysticks/levers and ensure safety interlocks work (e.g., seat belt sensor).
Steering & Movement: Test forward/reverse motion and turning for slippage or uneven movement.
3. Attachment Compatibility
Confirm quick-coupler functionality (if applicable) and ensure attachments lock securely.
Test auxiliary hydraulics (if equipped) for proper flow/pressure.
4. Documentation & Compliance
Verify serial numbers (machine, engine) match paperwork.
Check warranty documents and operator’s manual are included.
Ensure compliance with local safety standards (e.g., ROPS/FOPS certification).
